Castle Dome Turquoise Jacla Earrings by Piki Wadsworth (#01)

Castle Dome Turquoise Jacla Earrings
2 1/2" long

Hopi/Navajo artist Piki Wadsworth carries on the tradition of the finest Native American lapidaries. Piki was born to Cheryl Yestewa and Glenn Wadsworth in Second Mesa on the Hopi reservation of northern Arizona. She was taught the art of bead making by her parents. For these earrings, Piki used a super-fine-grade of natural silicated turquoise from the now extinct Castle Dome mine in the Sleeping Beauty mountains near Globe, Arizona. With earrings such as these, Piki is rapidly becoming one of the best Native beadmakers of her generation.
