Royston turquoise is still available on today’s market. What is not readily available is the gem material. That portion of production is held very near and dear to the hearts of the family who owns the mine. Every once in a while, though, a select piece of the rough material is let go to someone like Bruce Eckhardt, the individual who cut this most unusual turquoise cabochon. Guy Haskie was the lucky recipient of Bruce’s high-dome, old-style, cut stone, and we were the beneficiaries of Guy’s remarkable handiwork. The question is . . . who is the next in line?
