Two Grey Hills Weaving (ca. 1960)
4'8" x 2'11"
Some unknown but technically talented weaver, on an equally unknown portion of Navajoland, wove this attractive Two Grey Hills pattern rug sometime in the 1960s. This may sound like a less than admirable description of a highly admirable textile, but that is all we know about the who, when, and where of its creation. What the look and feel of the rug does express is that it is very well made and visually appealing. The rest of the story must remain a mystery, which can be attractive in its own right.
