Navajo Twill Weaving by unknown artist
30" x 30"
This is fun! We recently acquired a weaving with a colorful past, a blue ribbon winner from many years ago. While the award remains, the name of the artist has been lost to time. This twill pattern rug earned its claim to fame in the 1964 Gallup Inter-Tribal Ceremonials. The wool is completely hand-spun and the rug looks as good as it did the day it was taken from the loom. For a 52 year old, it is fabulous.
