The Armenian turquoise deposits have been known for centuries, but very little of this high-grade and natural material has found its way into the American Southwest. This super durable and vibrant stone was brought into the country over 20 years ago. John Huntress recognized the beauty and durability of this turquoise at first sight and grabbed all that he could get his hands on. We are lucky he did, because John is a master at the art of stone cutting and a lapidary extraordinaire. "Hard, glassy, and altogether classy” is the way John describes this outstanding turquoise and we agree. Totally!
