Navajo Rugs - Klagetoh Rugs
Klagetoh
weavings are identified with an area about fifteen miles south of
Ganado, although many believe them to be a Ganado weaving with the
predominant background color being grey rather than red. In Navajo,
Klagetoh translates to "Underneath or hidden water". (Continued below.)

Whatever the discrepancy with its true origin, Klagetoh rugs are separated from Ganado Reds by the predominance of grey or occasionally tan in the background color. The other colors used are black, red and white. The rugs are black bordered and typically feature a single serrated diamond design in the middle with other design elements, most typically stairsteps in each of the four corners.
