Clark Tenakhongva is an artist squarely planted in the present while maintaining a deep respect for the past. His choice to live on the Hopi reservation keeps him close to the traditional ways and gives his children the best opportunity for knowing their tradition. His love for his heritage is reflected in his carvings which pay respect to katsina dolls of the past.
